Ever Want to Just Run Away?
I do at the moment. And I really couldn't tell you why. I've had a very nice relaxing weekend. Edward and I helped out with a charity concert that ran very smoothly on Saturday. The turn out was a little low but, hey, any donations are better than no donations and the music was phenomenal. It was primarily Christian themed country and gospel acts - so if anyone out there is interested - be sure to check out John Sines Jr. He does a really impressive show. I'm not usually an "inspirational" music fan. Not that I have any thing against Christian music - I just find that most acts leave the music a poor second to the message. John is exceptional in that while I have no doubt the message is just as important to him - the music never takes second place.

“Blinded Eyes”
Over the past year, John Sines, Jr. has been taking Christian Country radio by storm! Although people may remember him from his success with “The Black #3, A Tribute to Dale Earnhardt,” he is quickly becoming known for his desire to spread the good news of Jesus Christ through his music ministry! With his debut Christian Country single, “The Man Behind the Hammer” reaching the top five on the Power Source Charts and his recent number one hit “Live Another Day,” John is quickly becoming recognized as one of the top artists in this genre! His newest release, “Blinded Eyes” is a powerful song that tells the story of a man who doesn’t believe in the Bible and finds himself facing the biggest struggle of his life. The song beautifully illustrates how even a young child can provide an example that helps to change someone’s life forever. Listen carefully, you will find a story that will both pull at your heartstrings and lift your spirits. Don’t miss this great single!
John Sines, Jr.: A Living Testimony
John Sines Jr. is a living testimony of how God can miraculously turn lives around with blessings they never imagined possible if they will only seek Him in all that they do, have faith in the love He has for them, and seek His guidance. As humans, we often get lost or sidetracked with our busy schedules
in everyday life, which equals relying on ourselves instead of Him. Inevitably, this often becomes our downfall. As you read John’s story, the fact that God’s grace, love, forgiveness, and mercy is available to those who truly seek Him is evident.
John had grown up in a household that believed in God but didn’t always practice Christian values. His parents played in a Country band so it was only natural that John began performing at age three. By the time he was 14, he was writing, playing guitar, and had started his own band.
John met Patricia, the woman who would become his wife, at age 20 in a dance hall where his father performed weekly. They were married on October 15, 1988, and have three children, Jonathan, 15, Zachary 8, and Savannah 6.
John played at every dive, bar, and club he could find during the next few years.
It would be a praying grandmother and Patricia’s mom that would be instrumental in bringing John to know Christ. In January of 1993, John accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. However, John admits, “I was not always in His will.”
While attending church at Lighthouse Baptist, John continued to perfect his talents as a singer, songwriter, and performer producing three CDs between 1993 and 1999. He also continued to play the club circuit. Because of the conviction of the Holy Spirit, John made up his mind that by the end of 2000, he would quit playing the club scene and retire from music altogether. During this time, John’s relationship with Jesus was strong. He was staying in the Word, praying, and doing God’s will.
In February of 2001, while watching the Daytona 500, he witnessed the death of Dale Earnhardt. This affected his heart so much that by the end of the next day he had written a song called “The Black # 3 (A Tribute To Dale Earnhardt).” He booked a session with his producer to record the song with the intention of getting it out to NASCAR fans as a healing tool. After recording the song, doors started opening, and it wasn’t long until John was in Nashville recording a CD on Music Row Records titled, The Black # 3 (A Tribute To Dale Earnhardt). The single reached the Country Music Billboard chart. His CD was placed in Wal-Mart stores nationwide allowing him to quit his job and go into music full time, opening for some of Country music’s greatest acts including: Hank Williams, Jr., Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Waylon Jennings, David Allen Coe, Andy Griggs, Montgomery-Gentry, George Jones, Molly Hatchet and many others.
John said, “In the beginning stages of this whirlwind, I was convinced this was God’s will for me. However, it would turn out to be both a blessing and a curse. When my dream career called for my time, God was put on the backburner. I had a record to work. There was no time for reading the bible, praying, or going to church. It was during this time I was pulled the furthest from the Lord and the commitment I had made to Him. However, this same situation would increase my faith and show me how much I needed Him.”
Not having a relationship with our Heavenly Father can have a price. We were born with the need for His guidance and without Him we are certainly lost. Inevitably, after several months John’s record deal went south.
John said, “I went for two years without a job or paycheck. Still out of God’s will, I was at home one day with my little girl. She was two at the time and was following me around as if to say, ‘Okay, Daddy! You are leading me! I’m following you wherever you go! If you take this thing to the ditches, then I’m going with you, I’m right beside you!’” John continued saying, “I knew this was God’s way of getting my attention to put me back on track in my relationship with Him. I felt so unworthy of Him and His love and needed Him desperately not only in my life but to control my life! I asked Him to forgive my failures, and I promised Him from then on I would use my talent to bring honor and glory to His name.”
Within twenty four hours, John had a job repairing church pews. John said, “When you get out of God’s will and spend 14 hours a day in a church, you tend to read your bible and pray more.”
The following week while John was traveling to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania to perform one of his last shows, his tour bus broke down. John said, “I felt this was God’s way of saying to me, ‘Ok boy, it’s time for you to figure out which side of the fence you are on!’ It was His way of showing me I was making the right decision to live for Him.”
It wasn’t long before John felt God leading him to go to work for a construction company. John said, “I had promised myself that I would not make a decision without first asking God for His guidance and direction. I still do this today because I know He does a much better job than I can.”
From that day forward a miraculous chain of events began to take place. It was evident that it was God working out these amazing events!
On Saturday, October 29, 2005 John said, “I started feeling an overwhelming desire to put together a Christian Country band. I knew a lot of different musicians in my area who played Country music and were now in church. I felt God was calling me to use my music to promote His love.”
By December 6, 2006, John had assembled a group of guys, and they had their first practice session. Desiring to contact Nashville to book a recording session, John started praying asking God if this is what he should do. John said, “I just had a peace about it. After a week of praying, I knew this is what the Lord wanted me to do, but I also knew I didn’t have a penny to my name to pay for it. I just kept thinking about the scripture that tells us ‘Without faith, it is impossible to please God.’”
John didn’t know it at the time but a divine appointment was coming very soon. While working for the construction company, John was instructed to go to a sister company and do research. A gentleman who was supposed to come and install some equipment could not make it. When he called to reschedule, John told him he would run over to the sister company the next day to meet him the next morning. Recognizing John, he started asking questions about why he wasn’t still singing. When John explained that he now had a relationship with Jesus and that He changes hearts and directions, another gentleman who was there, overhearing the conversation came over to ask John questions. After explaining where he felt God was leading him, the anonymous gentleman walked out of the room and came back with a check for $7,500.00. This was not a loan! It was a gift to help John with the project in Nashville. God had supplied the money for the recording session. Shortly after another $6,000.00 was donated to put the project into post production, $15,000.00 to promote and release the singles from the project to Christian Country radio, $15,000.00 to produce a music video, and $9,000.00 to purchase new Mackie sound gear! God is really GOOD!
In addition a $4,000.00 Taylor Guitar was donated, as well as a 1988 Silver Eagle Tour Bus which John rightly named, “The Blessing.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him; and He shall direct thy paths.” John is living proof that this is so true, and what God does for one, He can do for another. His forgiveness, grace, mercy, and love is there for all who seek Him. His love is never ending and boundless.
John has now released two singles to Christian Country radio. His first single, “The Man Behind The Hammer” rose to the No. 4 spot on the Christian Country Top 100 chart and “Live Another Day” is at No. 1 this month. His next single release is scheduled to be released by the end of August. A video for “The Man Behind The Hammer” has also been released and is used as a witness for the Lord. Programs have requested the video for airplay and John will happily continue to provide it for those who request it.
A new project called Alive is also in the works! It contains a complete live concert recording and includes songs such as “The Black # 3,” “The Man Behind The Hammer,” “Live Another Day,” and also contains classic hymns such as “Mansion Over The Hilltop,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” “Amazing Grace,” and some other surprises John is not willing to let out of the bag at this time.
John is taking everything he has learned about music, songwriting and performing and using it to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. The Blessing, (John’s bus) has enabled him to go further distances and make it to more events. They hardly ever see a hotel because of “The Blessing.”
Having an established connection with the NASCAR community, one of John’s ministry goals is to perform at NASCAR events, using “The Black # 3” and other songs promoting the Gospel to build a bridge so others can know about the wonderful news of Jesus Christ. He is waiting for the Lord to supply the tools needed for this which includes a mobile stage with lighting.
John says, “I’m extremely blessed to be working with the folks at HMG Nashville, and all the other businesses I’m associated with. It has allowed me to be in control of the direction I feel God is leading me. God has blessed me with a wonderful band of which I am exceedingly grateful! My bookings have continued to increase! I’m staying very busy and I’m blessed to be booked by those who contact me without having to make cold calls.”
When asked if he saw Christian Country music as being a wonderful tool to reach the world, John said, “As long as a tool is used the way God wants and his will is done! I’m concerned that many times we get so caught up in the work He’s provided, we can get our focus off the Savior.
As a member of the Christian Country Music Association, my main priority is to be a good witness and testimony of Christ. Proverbs 3:5-6 says to ‘Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.’ If we keep Christ as our focus, He will guide us.”

“Live Another Day”
John Sines Jr. delivers music that is pure Christian Country at its best! With a solid background in country music and a commitment to serving our Lord and Savior, this talented artist is a wonderful example of what this genre is all about! His current single, “Live another Day,” is an inspiring reminder of the simple blessings that we take for granted. John says, “One day every thing in the world seemed like it was going wrong. My wife, Patricia, was upset with me. The kids wouldn’t listen, bills filled the mailbox, and a car had literally hit the dog. The day, however, was absolutely beautiful. Not a cloud in the sky. Temperature was perfect. I could see the mountains while cutting my grass. I was drinking an ice cold Mountain Dew and thinking to myself, ‘you know, I don’t care how bad it gets, I’m thankful that the Lord let me live another day.’” DJs don’t miss this single “Live Another Day.”
THE MAN BEHIND THE HAMMER= JOHN SINES JR. - An excellent, inspiring song by the religious singer. It's the first I've heard of him on country radio and it's a really cool tribute to a grandfather who passes down a hammer used to make his famlies house etc. It remind the listener to take a look back on just how valuable their family is and what they did to make life better for their family and our future.
